Engineer III

Job Duties:

• Responsible for design and support of pressure control products in accordance with API/ASME/NACE Standards
• Support includes:
• Interfacing with Manufacturing to resolve ECR, NCR, ECO and DRA issues
  • Using Sales & Marketing input to generate design documentation changes per sales orders from customers
  • Performing required testing and reporting on improvements to existing products
  • Design models using ProE
• Use JD Edwards to
• Create Bills of Material,

Requirements:

• B.S. Mechanical Engineering

Manufacturing Engineer II

Job Duties:

• Responsible for the processing to include routings, tooling and fixtures for parts designed by Product Engineering
• Review manufacturing operations and work to a current production schedule
• Survey all manufacturing operations to determine areas for process improvement
• Review new designs during the development phase and prior to the issuance of product drawings
• Recommend modifications

• Six years machine shop knowledge

Sr. Engineer

Job Duties:

• Responsible for design and support of new products supporting the Pressure Control business line, specifically subsea pumping products
• Development of mechanical, structural, and hydraulic equipment
• Design or supervise the design of engineering models using ProE
• Use JD Edwards to create Bills of Material, document design efforts according to ISO standards, conduct testing per API standards and create written reports detailing results
• Responsible for supervision and mentoring of assigned engineers and designers

Requirements:

• B.S. Mechanical Engineering (or similar) from an ABET certified college or university
• Familiar with API/ASME/NACE standards
• Relevant experience to plan and execute the design of high performance pressure control products without significant training effort, preferably 7-10 years in the industry
• 3D CAD experience

Desirable:

• Experience with high pressure pumping equipment and valve design
• Experience with mechanical control systems
• Prior use of FEA tools (Design Space or Abaqus preferred)
• Familiarity with ASME Section VIII Division II
• Experience with mechanical control systems

• Design and development of software systems for Subsea BOP Multiplex Control Systems to include integration of hardware & software, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting and providing assistance to both internal and external customers.
• Preparation/update of software design file documents such as test procedures, installation procedures, troubleshooting guides, etc.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in either Electrical or Computer Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
• 10 years experience in process control software development Working knowledge of the complete software development lifecycle
• 5+ years experience in writing ANSI \'C\' code on UNIX platforms
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally to customer offshore drilling platforms

Desirable:

• Development and configuration/setup experience with the QNX Operating System (version 4.25 and 6.3.0 Momentics)
• Development experience with design and creation of Web based applications using Microsoft Visual Studio
• Knowledge of remote I/O communications protocols (Modbus, Profibus, etc.)

Lead Engineer, Analysis

Position: ENG092

Location:

Houston - Beltway 8/JFK

Job Duties:

• Perform FEA analysis (and improvement recommendations) on components and assemblies
• Perform thermal analysis (and improvement recommendations) on design and assemblies including control system skids
• Perform elastomeric packer analysis to simulate and determine closure pressures, cycle life, drift characteristics, CSO capabilities, etc
• Perform hydraulic analysis of Control’s hydraulic systems
• Recommend material changes/improvements to Product Engineer based on material stress analysis and application
• Provide Product Engineering recommendations concerning item geometry based on material stress analysis and application
• Aid in the design review process for new products and rationalized existing products
• Chose the software systems for analysis that will provide Hydril the best analysis
• Assist Product Engineering in the use of PC stress analysis software

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 year college degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy or equal
• Masters Degree preferred
• 10 yrs working in Analysis or equal

Desirable:

• Working knowledge of API 16A, ASME, Sect VIII and AISC RP2A along with experience using Abaqus and Ansys
