Since inventing the annular blowout preventer (BOP), Hydril Pressure Control has applied 70+ years of experience to develop a complete product line to match a broad range of operating requirements.  Hydril annulars are best known for their exceptional ability to handle extremely high pressures and temperatures on the surface and subsea.

Hydril annular BOPs are durable for dependable and efficient operation. Our standard annular will strip drill pipe and tool joints. It will also close off the annulus or open hole to full working pressure. The Hydril annular BOP provides quick, positive closing action with simplified controls to keep drilling fluids in the hole when a blowout threatens. The universal seal-off feature of its flexible rubber packing unit permits closure and seal-off on drill pipe, kelly, tool joints, or tubing and wireline, as well as the open hole. Maintenance is easy, rapid and economical with the use of standard tools.
