Basic Mux BOP Control System Course
Basic Mux BOP Control System Course


Who should attend:
Personnel wishing to learn about the capabilities and the equipment available on the Hydril MUX BOP control system.

Prerequisites:
None.

Purpose of Course:
The course is designed around a general stack and the Hydril MUX BOP Control System. The course will give a student an understanding of 1) what equipment makes up a control system, 2) how each piece of equipment operates and interrelates with the system, 3) how to access and use the control system software and 4) basic maintenance and troubleshooting of the equipment.

When:
Once a quarter. Class duration is 4 days, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm daily.

Locations:
Houston, Texas (Hydril Technology Center) Other locations available as requested.

Class Size:
Five (5) students are required. No more than fifteen (15) students per class.

Hydril Annular BOP Course
Hydril Annular BOP Course


Who should attend:
Personnel who want to know how to work on the Hydril style Annular BOPs.

Prerequisites:
None.

Purpose of Course:
This course will cover a class room discussion of the operation, disassembly, maintenance, assembly and testing of the GL, GX, GK and MSP BOPs. The last half of the class is a practical, hands-on experience, where students disassemble, inspect and reassemble a Hydril Annular BOP. Students are required to bring steel toed boots, safety glasses and work clothes.

When:
As requested. Class duration is 1 day, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm daily.

Locations:
Houston, Texas (Hydril Technology Center) Other Locations available as requested.

Class Size:
Two (2) students are required. No more than five (5) students per class.

Personnel who want to know how to work on the Hydril style Conventional and Compact Ram BOPs.

None.

Purpose of Course:
This course will cover a class room discussion of the operation, disassembly, maintenance, assembly and testing of the Hydril Conventional and Compact RBOPs. The last half of the class is a practical, hands-on experience, where students disassemble, inspect and reassemble a Hydril Ram BOP. Students are required to bring steel toed boots, safety glasses and work clothes.

Personnel who want to know how to work on the Hydril style Quik-Loq Ram BOPs.

The last half of the class is a practical, hands-on experience, where students disassemble, inspect and reassembly a Hydril Quik-Loq Ram BOP. Purpose of Course:
Each course is designed around a specific rig and its Hydril MUX BOP control system. The course will give a student an understanding of 1) what equipment makes up a control system, 2) how each piece of equipment operates and interrelates with the system, 3) how to access and use the control system software and 4) basic maintenance and troubleshooting of the equipment.

When:
As requested. Class duration is 4 days, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm daily.

Locations:
Houston, Texas (Hydril Technology Center) Other locations available as requested.

Class Size:
Five (5) students are required. No more than fifteen (15) students per class.

Who should attend:
This course is for Hydraulic or Subsea Technicians on the rig or their Supervisors who want to have a better understanding of how the hydraulics subsystems function and how to troubleshoot the system.

Prerequisites:
A Hydril Basic Mux BOP Control System Course.

Purpose of Course:
This course is meant to build on the Basic Mux Control System Course. It will consist of class room discussions of the hydraulic circuitry in the Mux Control Pod and Control System on the stack and techniques useful in troubleshooting the system. This course will cover a class room discussion of the operation, disassembly, maintenance, assembly and testing of the Hydril Annular and Ram BOPs. Portions of the class will be a practical, hands-on experience, where students disassemble, inspect and reassemble a Hydril Ram and Annular BOP. Students are required to bring, steel toed boots, safety glasses and work clothes.

When:
As requested. Class duration is 3 days, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm daily.

Who should attend:
This course is for Electrical or Electronics Technicians on the rig or their Supervisors who want to have a better understanding of how the electrical and electronics subsystems function and how to troubleshoot the system.

Prerequisites:
A Hydril Basic Mux BOP Control System Course.

Purpose of Course:
This course is meant to build on the Basic Mux Control System Course. It will consist of class room discussions of the electronic circuitry in the Control System and techniques useful in troubleshooting the system. These techniques will be put to use in hands-on troubleshooting exercises.

When:
As requested. Class duration is 3 days, 7:30 am to 5:00 pm daily.

Locations:
Houston, Texas (Hydril Technology Center) Other Locations available as requested.

Class Size:
Five (5) students are required. No more than twelve (12) students per class.
