Training Courses

Hydril offers a number of basic and advanced courses on Hydril Drilling Equipment. Many of these courses are tailored for the equipment or system installed on a specific rig. These types of courses teach new rig employees or employees on a rig where new systems are installed, to operate and maintain the actual equipment they will use. These courses also provide a refresher for employees already on the rig.

Our courses use various teaching techniques to keep the student interested, and provide different approaches to help the student understand the material. We continuously improve our courses based on student's suggestions. Our goal is to make our courses as valuable as possible.

Studies show that over 90% of the new material is forgotten if not used within 30 days. To help the student retain the new skills learned, we provide a comprehensive manual that the student can refer to long after the course ends.

Below are listed the various types of courses currently offered. Find the type of course desired and check the training calendar to find out when the next course is scheduled. If a desired course is not shown on the calendar, please send a course request to Hydril with the desired dates.

	Basic Mux BOP Control System Course The course is designed around a general stack and the Hydril MUX BOP Control System
	Hydril Annular BOP Course This course will cover a class room discussion of the operation, disassembly, maintenance, assembly and testing of the GL, GX, GK and MSP BOPs
	Hydril Conventional / Compact Ram BOP Course This course will cover a class room discussion of the operation, disassembly, maintenance, assembly and testing of the Hydril Conventional and Compact RBOPs
	Hydril Quik-Loq Ram BOP Course This course will cover a class room discussion of the operation, disassembly, maintenance, assembly and testing of the Hydril Quik-Loq RBOPs

	Rig Specific Basic Mux BOP Control System Course Each course is designed around a specific rig and its Hydril MUX BOP control system
	Rig Specific Advanced Hydraulics Course This course is meant to build on the Basic Mux Control System Course
